it takes practice to create and maintain a mental idea of who you are, it takes effort to stop investing in the activity of maintaining a false notion of self... but to be what you really are - what you’ve always been despite everything - requires no practice, takes no effort.

you think? i don't know... maybe. i don't know if i would call it effort, as in doing something; more like stopping something.
but yea, it requires a certain vigilance, a willingness to devote your life to this. yes, in some ways it's an all-consuming task.
